Could EZface Kiosks Change the Face of Drugstore Beauty? - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Whenever I come beyond a new drugstore makeup morsel, I follow a familiar routine.
With the prospective product in hand, I'll runway downward a cogitating surface in the shop (like the edge of a nearby shelf), and hold the particular up to my face to guess how the color might wait on my pare.
Admittedly, it's a rather unscientific arroyo…
Since most drugstores don't provide open testers for products, dazzler shoppers are often left to guess based on how products appear through their unopened packages.
Merely the times, dazzler lovers, are a-changin'! Drugstore retailers similar Wal-Mart have begun testing new technology that could help.
The new EZface Inc. "virtual mirror" lets ladies (and gents) see how beauty products might await on their skin without actually having to try them on (kinda similar Daily Makeover's Makeover Studio in a box).
Customers stand up in front of the computerized EZface kiosk, which has a congenital-in camera, bear upon screen, bar code scanner and printer, and take their motion-picture show taken.
And then, by simply scanning the bar code of any makeup you're interested in, EZface generates a composite picture simulating what yous might look like with it on. Also from the kiosk, you tin can print the prototype, electronic mail it or fifty-fifty ship it straight to Facebook.
Pretty cool, yah?
I oasis't seen an EZface kiosk in person yet, but I'yard dying to (allow me know if you have!). So far they've been "deployed" in just 10 Wal-Mart stores beyond the U.S.
I'thousand curious… Do the machines besides accept into account fluorescent store lighting, pare tone and production texture/finish? Inquiring minds want to know! 🙂
If these EZface kiosks take off, they could become a trademark part of the drugstore shopping experience, like cheesy in-shop muzak (Kenny Chiliad, anyone?).
